One of the things I've always loved about this boy (even at age 13) is that he's mature in the areas of life where maturity counts, but other than that, he's in no real rush to grow up...
And I love...
How quickly and sincerly he is to forgive me.
How he still asks for a hug 10+ times a day.
How his hair looks when it's long enough to get wavy.
How he always opens doors and gates for ladies.
How brilliantly he can hold a conversation with an adult.
How he can use analogies to help make sense of scripture.
How he always leans his head over to my side of the car when he's sitting in the passenger seat so I can rub his head.
How great his vocabulary is.
How he is (usually) so quick to admit when he's in the wrong.
How willing he is to share really personal parts of his life with me.
Don't get me wrong because the list of things that drive me batty about him would be equally long, but this week I'm just focusing on the lovely stuff.
Good for You!! focusing on "the lovely stuff."

And that IS lovely stuff. I have a 12 1/2 year old daughter that is just like that so I completely get what you are saying! What a great boy.

Awww how sweet. As a mom to boys, I can relate. I hope mine grow to have the good qualities that Cole has. And that they use those qualities that can drive us batty to do good in the world. :-)

Sweeeeeeet!!!
(And I just had an epiphany....Cole has hair just like our youngest son and I've never liked how people cut his hair. Then I noticed how Cole has the same type of hair along with the perfect cut for that wavy/straight combo!!! Oy!!! Thanks for pointing that out...lol.

Thank you for this this morning. After a pretty rough night with my 8 year old that ended with me pretty pissed off and him going to bed without me even telling him good night, I need this reminder. Even though we're in this slump where he is driving me batty every night, he is still such a good (GREAT) kid and I wouldn't trade him for the world. Now I can't wait to get home from work and give him a big ole hug!
