Ross called me earlier today. He sounded really excited and said, "Guess what I just did mom? I bought a new car!!!"
I felt my whole body tense up and then I literally put my hand over my mouth to prevent anything from coming out of it.
Outwardly, I was silent...not only because my hand was over my mouth, but also because he is an 'adult' now who lives on his own, pays his own bills and gets to make his own (apparently stupid) choices.
Inwardly though, I was yelling, "Why would you go do something so moronic? Haven't I taught you anything? How do you plan on paying for that?"
And then he started laughing and said, "I can't believe you fell for that Mom, April Fools!"
Later on in the day, the rest of my little family got home from their trip.
We all loved on each other for awhile and then Josh decided to stay home and get unpacked while I took the kids to see Mirror, Mirror at the movie theater (which by the way is really cute).
We got home kind of late and Josh said he'd put the kids to bed while I put on my pajamas and washed my face.
The bathroom fan was running and I had just turned on the water when I heard a loud thudding noise. I just figured it was Courtney Lee though (whose little feet always sound like an elephant's coming down the stairs) and went about washing my face.
As I came out of the bathroom, I could hear Cole and Annie laughing and saying, "You pushed her down the stairs!", "No, you pushed her down the stairs!" And as I started to walk past the stairwell, I saw Courtney Lee sprawled out on the landing with thick, red stuff smeared all over her face.
And if Cole and Annie's laughter wasn't enough to give away their April Fool's joke, the fact that Courtney Lee immediately turned to look at me with a grimace on her face definitely gave it away.
And then I made everyone pose for a picture before helping Courtney Lee wash the ketchup out of her hair...
Josh just started laughing while I was shooting and said, "Now this is what our family really looks like; you taking pictures, Courtney Lee disappointed about something, Cole with his nose in a book and Annie acting like a ham."
Yep, that's a pretty accurate family portrait...but I kind of like them anyhow.
Happy April Fools.
Oh, and I'll post the winners from the drawing in red here at the bottom of this post first thing tomorrow.
ETA: This morning turned out to be a busy one and I'm not feeling too well on top of it, so I apologize for not getting the winners posted yet...will either be later today or first thing tomorrow.
Hilarious!!!!! Love It

And I am so glad I finally heard some April Fools pranks....my husband and I stole our 29 year old daughter's car...just took it home and she didn't even notice till my husband picked her up for church that morning... her face turned black from her eye makeup....she laughed so hard she cryed! Thanks for the laughs and inspiring pictures!!
