That is just too funny...be sure to break it gently!

Mary

Oh I just love this! Although, I will be devastated when my kids tell me they don't believe any mdore.
Be easy with your words when you tell Ross :)

Angela

I have no idea how I stumbled upon your blog, but this post is hilarious! I really enjoy reading about your life and children, and seeing it through your lens. Thanks for the smile today!

kelli

"He deserves the truth." That's too funny!
I have to thank you for putting your classes in mp3 form. They got me through the 50 min. wait at the dr.'s office yesterday. All magazines have been removed, due to germ spreading abilities, so it would have been a very long wait.

tara pollard pakosta

that is freakin' hilarious!!!!!!!
he's GREAT! love his little attitude! LOL!

Sarah L.

That is the cutest thing I've ever heard! Thanks for the smile today!

DonnaG

Oh my gosh, that's hysterical! That kid should write a book.

Cami

ROFL!!! That is too funny.

Kim

Too funny. I don't think you should tell Ross. You should let Coley tell Ross. Can you imagine how funny that conversation would be?

meg

i read about a mom who was confronted by her kid's disbelief on Santa. And she said, 'if you don't believe, you won't get anymore gifts.' so the kid reversed her opinion. :-D

Susan

Oh My Goodness!! Karen, this is so funny!! It made my day! you have the best stories! thank you so much for sharing things like this.

Dana

You've shared some cute and/or funny stories about the kids on here before but I think that one is the funniest! Thanks for the laugh.

Joanna

hahahaha!

Tracy Anderson

OMG that is just TOOO CUTE and SO FUNNY! It's amazing at how innocent children are, isn't it! LOL thanks for sharing! :o)

Lori

oh i love it! and your response :)

kristina

loooooove it!
thanks for sharing!

Louise Murr

That is too too funny. Poor Ross just doesn't have all the intelligence that his little brother Coley has, someone has got to break it to him. Maybe Cole should be the one to tell him. I'm sure he will do it with a gentle touch. Too cute.

Louise

shari

That is too funny! One of our son's questioned Santa being real for quite sometime but never even thought about the Easter Bunny not being real. I finally had to sit him down and tell him before friends at school found out! Now how can you not believe in Santa but believe in a big rabbit that runs all over town with easter baskets???!!!

And let me just say one more thing... I am so glad that your back blogging! Reading your posts and looking at your amazing photos are a bright spot in my days! :-)

Helena

LOL! Awwww.

CathyK

oh, to be a fly on the wall when that conversation takes place!

Dina

Coley is just so funny! If he only knew that big brother Ross already knows.

teresa b

He's too funny.. ya know I have yet to admit anything to my children.. when they were much younger they would say the same thing and my comeback was always the same.. "If you don't believe.. you don't receive." I think they know better now (being 14 and 16) to just let me enjoy playing Santa! hee hee...

Leslie Kubtan

SO funny! I have been reading your blog for about a year now. I share the photos of your family with my friends. You have such a beautiful family and children. I was sad when you said you were going to take some time...I was pleased it wasn't for long. :) I hope Ross takes it ok. LOL

karlalala

HyStErIcAl!!!

Julia Spencer

THank you for the laugh.... ;) Too sweet. Ross needs to know.

Jenn Hughes

Tears... sweet, laughing tears!!

Cyndi

That made me laugh out loud. Both of my kids know, but I could never bring myself to say the words out loud. Whenever they ask me straight out whether Santa is real, I say, like another commenter above does, "If you don't believe, you don't receive." Santa visited us at my parents' house until we went to college, and I like it that way.

Jen Spain

I like your line, but I LOVE Cole's response! That is hilarious! I think my 9 year old suspects too, but he isn't asking questions. I think he kind of doesn't want to know. He didn't go and visit Santa last year, but I think I bought myself an extra year of credibility when he asked me whether Santa was real, and I told him to think about what Santa brings him. I told him that if it was me buying those gifts they would all be educational (the joys of having a teacher for a mom...) He thought for a minute, and then smiled brightly and said, "You're right, Mom!"

Sierra

I'm laughing so hard right now. Love it! lol

kelly

I always told my kids that when they stopped believing, he quit coming.
Katie's 20 and she'll still "pretend" for me... :)
Chase, well, he's 19 but I'm pretty sure he still believes in the dude in the red suit. :)

Lisa Risser

So CUTE! I have visions of Cole with his hands on his hips telling Ross "You can't handle the truth" ala Jack Nicholoson in A Few Good Men!

Grace P

hahaah too precious!

kat-in-texas

Kids are so precious!!! Coley is no exception!!! Crazy-man!!!

Lisa Hall

Karen

I love your blog. When I told my oldest that Santa wasn't real, he said to me, "Mom, did you make that up? I mean that is so cool that the whole world believes in Santa." I'll never forget that! Makes me smile.

KateinCleveland

Give it up, Karen ... tell poor Ross the truth. But, please, for the love of God, break it to him gently! LOL!

laura j

I've had a great laugh about your post!!! Thanks for sharing... I still have a huge grin on my face!

Ally

Well, there ya go. How could I not love Coley too? He's just trying to be a blessing and a help wherever he goes... too too precious.

Tracy

I have to tell you...my kids are 19 and 23 ( ok so they aren't kids anymore ) but I've always told them that I still believe in Santa and that if you don't believe there is no magic in Christmas. So, as long as you want Christmas to be magical you must believe. Also, something to share to you and all the mom's of young children out there... (I wish someone would have told me this years ago) You know how Santa always brings too many toys...well someone I know told me that their children make a list for Santa but Santa picks three things to bring them because the Baby Jesus got three gifts. Man, if I had only known that years ago Santa would have saved a lot of money!!

Martha

OMG, what a precious story and what a precious picture of your little all grown up Coley! Ross will be heartbroken when he finds out the truth.
