Once again great shots and great stories. Thanks!

Patty Hetrick

I cracked up at the picture of Annie screaming at Courtney. And then had the obligatory "awww" at the shot of her crying. And I'm like you, when they start boo-hooing over nothing I tend to say things like "I'll give you something to cry about if you don't knock it off". Got it from my dad.

A little cold mud usually helps bee stings not hurt so much. I know that bee stings on the foot hurt the most!

Oh my goodness- I was cracking up out loud at the picture of Annie... too funny!

Karen, I think that was about the sweetest post you've ever done. I do hope that the jet boat trip is a success the second time around -Courtney Lee can have "two very best days of her life." You are a great story teller.

YAY! That was fun! :)

I'm wondering what actions you're using these days...the colors really pop. Finally got my cards for the troops sent off today. Better late than never. Thanks again for the gentle nudge on that one!

I had such a great time with you guys, well via the pics of course! And helloooooooooooo, thanks for the shot of those calves you love so much! They are hot, if I do say so myself (hope my hubby doesn't read this blog, lol). Hugs from Conroe, TX!

AHHH..Hellgate. That is one of the highlights of my 8year old lives too! We took him for his birthday last year. Love the pics makes me feel like we are back near Medford again. I miss it.

oh, you are such a gifted story teller:)
both in your writing and in your photography!
thanks for sharing, karen!

The kids are adorable as always. Have fun "jet-boating" next week.

Great read. Wonderful photos as well.

Karen - your family stories and photos just crack me up! Like I told you before, I don't think I could ever get mad at Annie - she is just TOO precious for words! Glad to see that dad has a soft spot and was able to turn it into something funny in the end - poor Courtney - I hope she was all right after getting fussed at by her baby sister! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Trac~ :o)

that sounds like a fun night anyway!
it's great they could see that it wouldn't work right then for the boat trip
& to reschedule it! awesome kids! GREAT pix!

That picture with Annie crying in the back ground is the best. I know it shouldn't be, but it just sums up parenthood, doesn't it?

I'd say that you have a pretty good way of fixing everything (rainy day & postponed best day ever) and making it turn out fun.

Love the photos as usual. Courtney & Annie look very cute in their dresses.

I just love your family tales...and the pictures are so wonderful. Thanks for sharing Karen.

i love the way your pictures tell the story!!

How do you get them to all stand so close to eachother so that you can take a photo of one and get the rest in the background. My family must have a plot to ruin all photos as they never stick together.

I have to tell you, I don't comment often here--but I adore how your photographs "feel". There is something about the way you capture light that is so engaging. Almost like I'm looking at motion pictures.

That is such a bummer about it raining on jet boat day! Having grown up in Grants Pass (Merlin really) my family and I have done that jet boat trip off and on for the last 25 years or so and I think it gets better every time! Have a great time and I love your pictures!

Your pictures turned out great!!!

Annie really looks like her dad in the 2nd picture more than she ever has to me before. It's the eye's and the mischievous look on her face I think. Beautiful pictures!

OMG! LOVE the screaming shot! Be sure to tag that one for her graduation, ring ceremony or wedding slide's priceless!

I love your shots! You make a nothing moment into a wonderful story. Egads, now I have the Mary Tyler Moore song in my head.

Love your family. Really - ya'll are funny and crazy and have insane little meltdowns just like mine.

So - are you ever going to offer a Photoshop class to your grad students? Can I be a guinea pig for you? I have PS CS3 and I want to process my pictures like you do. Please?
