Really wanted to get this photo and memory onto a layout. Love Annie's little piggie nose (I've got the exact same nose - except it isn't as cute on a 33 year old) - love Coley's eyelashes and the mole under his left eye.
Having to scrapbook a whole lot quicker these days since my time is so limited - maybe that's a good thing - forces me to think less - forces me to realize that it's really about getting these memories down on paper - enjoying the process - enjoying the outcome - whatever the outcome.
Teaching techniques like this in my next class "Photo Embellishment" (I start teaching it in May and will also have class kits to order by then). I cut a heart out of a piece of scrap paper and then traced it directly onto my photo. Cut out the heart with my trusty Fiskars shape cutter and then used a pair of scissors to roughen up the inside edges of the heart. Used a white Sigmo Uniball pen to make the little dots around the perimeter of the heart. Added the "L" & "E" with foam stamps and acrylic paint. The "V" is a Making Memories chipboard letter. Added a bit of journling and an index print inside the heart. Fun experimenting with stuff like this.
Will try to get my class schedule posted this week - am just biting at the bit to get back to teaching again - meeting new people & catching up with everyone that I haven't seen in awhile . That's the cool thing about teaching at the same stores over and over again - feels just like hanging out with all your best girlfriends - talking about scrapbooking. Lucky me. Can't wait to see all of you!
Aaaaaaawww. Such a darling photo! Love it!!

Gorgeous photo. I'm loving the "Love" in the bottom corner. Must try a Sigmo pen, looks very white on a shiny photo, so must be a good one.

Where can I get one of those pens? Does it hold up on all shiny surfaces?

Wonderful idea with the heart cut out. I just remembered a photo I took of my son loving on his baby sister when he was almost 3. He was giving her kisses to!! I feel a page coming on!!
