I called my dad on the way home from the race to let him know how it went and to check on the kiddos, and he said, "I don't know why you'd drive so far to do something that sounds so horrible."
All I can say is that it's hard to explain, but the horribleness is exactly what makes it so wonderful and so worthwhile.
