Just stumbled upon these shots of my kids from The Hometown Workshops I taught back in September and decided they were worth sharing.
The first time I taught the workshop, we photographed all three of my kids (who were paid subjects) taking turns hitting a pinata. I'm not sure why I didn't think of the inherent risk associated with three overly-excited children wielding sticks in front of a live audience, but alas, I've never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed.
Long story short, Cole ended up accidentally hitting Courtney Lee in the stomach with the pinata stick and Courtney (who is often known for her dramatic flair) burst into tears.
Next thing you know, I'm yelling at Cole (in front of a live, studio audience) while consoling Courtney Lee, my mom (who was my right-hand-man during the workshops) is mad because she always sides with my children, and Cole is locking himself in the laundry room so that no one can find him.
Chalk it up to one of my prouder moments in parenting - and the reason I decided to photograph each of my children in separate locations for all future Hometown Workshops...
