Oh really. That sounds expensive! At the age of 39 I am just considering it for myself!!

Yes..it seems like in today's world...every child needs orthodontic work. Good luck!

Ouch! I lucked out with just 1/3 of mine needing a mouth full of metal. Good luck!

We had that exact same visit earlier this year with my two. I feel your pain. :-(

OY! My sister had three in braces too, lucky for her she works for a dentist and so she got them all for free. The perks huh! Of course they work her to death, that is a little down fall. Hugs from Conroe, TX

Both of mine needed them. And there was a discount for the second kid. Not that it helped much, her teeth were worse than the first. I could have paid for another trip to see you and another mark 3! But at least now I have unwilling photo subjects with straight teeth.

Hilarious, Annie! Cole, you look so handsome!!! Courtney, you look like you are thinking about the mouthful of metal. I don't envy this stage of your family's life, but it seems like everyone has to go through it. I just feel so badly for those people where there is no way they can afford them. Even on payments. Even with mortgaging the dog.

Is this worth a second opinion? My three siblings and I were told the same, but only one - the worst - got them. We turned out ok. Just saying it might be worth a mother opinion.... Best of luck, Corissa

2 in braces here and it's 2-stage treatment, to boot! Expander then braces (for less than a year), then retainer, then braces again (for 2 yrs.). It'll take us that long to pay for them! You have sooo much to look forward to!

My dentist swore for 2-3 years our oldest would need them. Went to ortho and said nope, just a W-bracket for a year and retainer for the next two years. No teeth pulled, not invasive. It's called the Damon method.

Personally, I have never heard of anyone who takes their kids to the orthodontist that is not told "they need braces" UGH is right
