Was a fun, low-key New Years at our house...
I made a last minute run to the grocery store for snacks/dinner. (Cheese, summer sausage, crackers, honey, strawberries, blueberries, tortilla chips, salsa, bean dip, etc.)
And then we ate while brainstorming on some 'family rules.' (We have a 20x20 sheet of posterboard with some generic family rules that I found online - wish I could remember where I found them - but we decided it was high-time we made our own.)
We still need to narrow them down a bit, but overall, I think we got some pretty good stuff written down.
And then we started a (long) game of Monopoly.
Yans took an early lead in the game by scoring both Boardwalk and Parkplace.
But then Josh Downs put hotels on five of the cheapest properties on the board and started to whip us all.
So the kids and I all decided to ban together against him - promising to sell each other certain properties if we landed on them.
That's a Get out of Jail Free card.
And that's a paper horn going down the back of her shorts.
And these are a few shots that Courtney Lee took.
And then Courtney Lee landed on one of Josh's properties and was out of the game.
And then Annie decided she was tired of playing.
And then I lost all of my money too.
Which just left Josh Downs and Coley for the next hour and a half.
And it looked like Coley might take the lead when he landed on Free Parking (and won over $3000 because no one had landed on Free Parking the entire game.)
But somehow, Josh still took the game with nothing but a row of cheap hotels.
And then I took a few pictures of the girls (who crashed at 10:30 pm) before calling it a night myself (at 11:00 pm) so it was only the boys who made it up to watch the ball drop.

You look about 18 in the picture (6th from the bottom I believe) where you've got your arms around Annie and Coley)! Congratulations on looking like you were born in 1995. :)
p.s. still wondering if you were starting fresh if you'd choose canon or nikon?

Great to see the family all together and happy! (And I MAY have been following you a bit too long when the first thought that popped into my head after the second photo was - it's always strawberries for Annie!) Happy New Year!
